2shadow_croppedHelp for tending and mending interpersonal relationships…

Esther I. Wei, a licensed marriage and family therapist, focuses on treating adult individuals and couples to facilitate trauma recovery and improve their relationships. Esther is skilled at helping to untangle blurry webs of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in order to bring clarity to issues that may be the source of great pain and dissatisfaction. She provides a safe, empathetic environment so that clients feel heard and supported while they develop healthy relational and coping strategies. Esther regularly employs trauma-informed and experiential (i.e., experience-oriented) strategies that help the brain form and integrate new neuropathways. These methods help clients to reprocess disturbing memories, access healing, improve symptoms, and cultivate more secure attachment styles. She welcomes clergy or leaders in the helping professions who may benefit from critical support for their relationships and families in a confidential counseling setting. Esther enjoys helping others understand God’s development of their lives from a holistic perspective encompassing the spiritual and bio-psycho-social aspects.

Esther’s therapeutic focus includes the following:

  • Marital or Relationship Problems
  • Mood Disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety)
  • Trauma Recovery
  • Codependency and Addictive behaviors (e.g., substance abuse and process addictions)
  • Grief and Loss Issues
  • Self-worth/Self-image Issues
  • Family Conflicts
  • Clergy/Missionary-related Challenges
  • Spiritual Struggles
  • Anger Management

  • Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
  • Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST)

“Esther Wei earns my heartfelt endorsement for her therapy skills. As an individual, she is someone with great integrity, loving compassion, and intelligence. As a therapist, she is perceptive, empathic, and effective. Her cultural sensitivity is top-notch. As a child of Taiwanese/Chinese immigrant parents, Esther has native understanding of the mainstream American culture, as well as genuine appreciation for other cultural nuances. I myself would seek Esther to be my personal therapist when I am in need.”
